Hi Christin

this is an idea we have discussed internally with various parties and while there may be approaches to simplify any such calculation, each linguist will have their own pace, and availability, which will require a project manager to adjust any system-generated date proposal anyway, so I am not sure how much it would save the Project Manager.

WorldServer should suggest a possible due date to the client

Clients are not always aware of the work of a translator or what a Project manager needs to do.

Due to this reason the clients are requesting translations within a tight schedule or with due dates that are not possible at all.

I would request a page in WorldServer where the admin can define all the points and figures needed so that WorldServer can suggest a due date to the client.

So if I have a page like the cost model page where I can enter the number of translators for a specific language, how many words these translators are able to translate per day, how many words the proofreader is able to proofread, how much time is needed in advance to plan/schedule the project and find free translators, time needed for the in-country review, etc., WorldServer can already suggest a possible due date to the client during project creation.

This will help to avoid sending mails to the client (informing the client that is not possible to deliver on the requested date), changing due dates for projects and will raise the awareness how long a project takes.
