This is an issue I encounter frequently.
Currently, when you open a translation job Properties window and click the Added Items tab, you can only see a list of objects added to the job. I have to write down the object name, because you cannot highlight it and copy it, and then perform a Search. With publication objects this inconvenience is compounded because unless the publication object name is exact, the publication will not come up in Search results. For other objects, the object name is not enough to ensure that I have located the correct topic, which means looking at event logs to confirm. It's a lot of steps just to view an object.
My suggestion is that the Added Items tab has some similar functionality to Search results: a check box by each item, and a Go to location button.
