I have played with the Inbox definitions for some time.   It seems that with the simple ability to have a display name for the inbox, the options for implementing workflows would increase significantly.

For example:

 - Two different users/roles could have their own inbox for the same workflow state without needing to have different names for that inbox  (they could even see the same item in the same state of the workflow)

 - It would be easier to build parallel workflows for separate content groups in the same organization without having to worry about collisions in naming when two groups have a similarly named status "Writing" but different workflow rules.   (The inboxes would be distinctly named to the Administrator but have the same name as far as what the users see)
