Allow the use of Favorites for Draft Space

We have engineers, who we have granted access to Draft Space to create content. It would be very helpful for them if they could use Favorites in Draft Space so that they could quickly access their folders without having to traverse a large directory structure.
For example, if an engineer wants to create content in Draft Space, they use Structure > Insert Component. Then, they have to traverse a large directory structure that they are not familiar with.
It would be very helpful if they could:

  • Add publications in Draft Space to their list of Favorites.
  • Add Topic folders to their list of Favorites.
  • In the Insert Component screen have the option to click the Topics folder in their list of folders, so that they could easily add or open topics from this folder.

  • Hi  ,

Thank you for highlighting the issue with SME authors finding the correct folder in a large directory structure. I agree that this can be quite challenging and thank you for suggesting the Favorites idea. I would like to get your feedback on an alternative solution too.

We could open the Insert Component modal by preselecting the publication folder the user is currently working on in the directory. This way, the user can more easily locate the relevant Topic folder if the hierarchy and folder structure in your organization are similar to the screenshot attached. Additionally, Draft Space currently remembers the last selected folder in the Insert Component modal during a session, which might further aid navigation.

Please let me know your thoughts on this proposed solution.
