Improve Management of Image Resolutions in Client Tools

We use both high-resolution and low-resolution images in our repository, and the Web Client display both resolutions. However, our authors and information architects work primarily in the client tools, and they need to be able to conveniently transition to released status both resolutions of the images in their publications.

Unfortunately, the Baseline tab in Publication Manager and the Repository tab in the Browse Repository window in the client bridge display only the high-resolution images. Only the client bridge inboxes display both resolutions, which is inconvenient and difficult to manage because all of the inboxes are not always accessible to the person transitioning the objects. This sometimes results in human error, with only the high-resolution images being released.

It would be helpful if the high and low resolutions of an image could somehow be linked, so that both resolutions could be transitioned together to new statuses. If that is not possible, it would be helpful if both image resolutions were accessible from the Baseline tab in Publication Manager and the Repository tab in the Browse Repository window, so both images could be easily selected and transitioned using the client tools.

  • Hi Amy, we have a plugin in Tridion Docs for this called "SYNCGRAPHICWFSTATES". Check with your RWS contact and see if you can have that activated/implemented. However, I should say that we do have some issues with this plugin, it sometimes getting stuck in a loop where the object start jumping back  and forth between the statuses.
