The current commenting interface in the example Dynamic Documentation website is too prominent:
- The comment form + comments often take up more space than the actual content,
- The comment form + comments spans the entire width of the screen
- The comment form + comments are always visible.
I'd expect this kind of commenting UI on a Wiki or Confluence site. Those kinds of sites are very collaborative.
I see a doc site differently: feedback is welcomed, but the site is interactive, not collaborative. In practice, too, the comments rarely contribute to the content, but rather point out mistakes or ask for clarification.
My company's UX department agrees.
