Start Publication Manager with a specific publication

We frequently communicate via email between different product teams to discuss content, organize reviews, troubleshoot publishing problems, image problems, translation problems, etc.

It would be great if we could send a link that starts the publication manager with a specific publication.

What we are doing now is to send a GUID:

  1. Locate the GUID in the web client
  2. start Pub Man
  3. Browse repository
  4. find the folder,
  5. open the publication

Or we send the path to the publication. You still have to do a number of steps to open the publication

  • This is the kind of functionality that can save man-years of time in 5 minute increments, every time a user interacts with the repository. The ironic thing is that the bigger the repository (i.e. the more successful the SDL deployment) the more mercilessly the lack of this kind of functionality punishes the user, since it takes longer and longer to navigate the file system. I understand that many features are built to get NEW users on the system, this is the kind of feature that keeps the customers you already have.
