Accept suggestion option is a part of Docs 14SP4 release

TD14SP1 Review Space: Create simple accept tools for suggested text, especially for multiple suggestions within a block of text

When a block of text is selected for suggestions in Review Space and edits are made in the Proposed change box, each individual change is rendered in the Editorial suggestion box, even if the changed words represent a contiguous block. This makes it unnecessarily difficult for the author charged with then manually reproducing the change (umm... what?) in the authoring tool. (We use oXygen. Draft Space appears to have no awareness of comments made in Review Space, which is hard to understand.)

Please improve review comment functionality to

  • recognizes contiguous blocks of text as such
  • allow authors to quickly accept changes rather than incredibly laboriously manually reproduce each change
    • that effort is wasted time and introduces the possibility of error
  • bulk accept selected changes

Microsoft Word's Track Changes excellent review tools allow quick acceptance of proposed changes. They are not only fast, but completely eliminate the possibility of introducing discrepancies between the suggested text and the final text. The visual presentation of the replacement text makes it really easy to identify a group of contiguous changes vs. a set of coincidentally nearby changes.

  • Thank you Oleksandr! We're quite new to Tridion Docs overall, and just starting our planning for SP2, so that's very helpful indeed. I hadn't realized from the article you linked to it that it manifests as a button. I found the boot camp videos, so hopefully I'll learn a lot more from there about the UI/UX.

Looking back at the demonstration comment, I see the Review Space comment was in fact not shared. So I'm sure you're correct that was the reason. Either that, or since the demo involved flipping straight from Review Space to Draft Space, perhaps there wasn't sufficient time for the sync to occur.

    Very much appreciated!
