Idea Delivered

This functionality is available as part of the Organize Space in the context of the Tridion Docs 15.1 release

TD15: Where Used: Show language in the Search result

The use case is I used the Where used feature for a topic that appears in a bookmap that has been translated from English into Chinese and Japanese. The bookmap appears three times in the Where used results without any differentiation for the languages as shown in the screen shot below (English, Chinese, and Japanese). I must click the preview feature for each bookmap to determine the language. If an object has been translated into another language, it would be helpful to show the language so that the results can be easily differentiated.

Three identical entries of 'HPE iLO 5 Release Notes Version: 8' in the 'Where used' results, with no language differentiation.

  • Hello  ,
I am glad to mention that this idea was incorporated into the product starting from Tridion Docs 15.1 version.
In case you are running on Tridion Docs 15.0 version, you can contact customer support or professional services to obtain the cumulative hotfix that includes this improvement as well.

    The reference number is 20240202.Hotfix--CRQ-36401.CumulativeHotfixCSOS.202402-15.0.0.zip

  • I totally agree it is not good to get a list of identical names without any differentiating factor. Clicking each link individually seems like a workaround at best. We translate into up to 50 languages, so seeing the language directly in the result list would make life extremely better.

  • Hi Dave, I am so glad to hear this feature is being planned for a future release. I will share this good news with the team. I will take up your suggestion, and I will recommend to the writer who proposed this change to click the blue hyperlink for "HPE iLO Release Notes" rather than use the preview feature in the meantime.

  • Hi Christina,

Agree that showing the information would increase the usability, another idea for the team. I would think that clicking the blue hyperlink "HPE iLO 5 Release Notes" might be faster than a preview as it would navigate you to the exact version and language by selecting those check boxes. You could use your browsers Back button to get back to your Where Used. [SCTW-6570]

    Best wishes,
    Dave
