Tridion Docs web client URLs should reflect item ID, similar to Tridion Sites

It would be great if we could send a URL that includes an ID, in order to link directly to items or folders in the Tridion Docs CMS.

Tridion Sites has a feature like this, where you can pass something like:

<Content-Explorer-Base-URL>/SDL/#app=wcm&entry=cme&url=%23locationId%3Dtcm%3A145-30-4

(e.g. linking directly to a specific Structure Group, in this case).

This would make it much quicker to get into the Tridion Docs web client, browse to and find item.

Draft Space has the capability to pass a URL and jump directly to a publication and specific topic, but the web client does not seem to have this functionality.

  • Hi, Damian!

The Tridion Docs 15 release introduced Organize Space as the successor of WebClient.
Among many other improvements it includes a deep-linking functionality that allows linking to a direct item or a folder.
Please upgrade to use all the benefits that it brings!
