Not Considering

As can be read from the comments, multi media types are configurable so we are not considering this idea.

enable .epub format to be uploaded in Tridion as a binary document type

We currently can enable uploading of images, PDFs, Word docs, and other types. However, .epub does not currently exist as an option. It is, however, much more accessible for those using screenreader in comparison to PDFs (especially Mac users with VoiceOver).

If you can add .epub as a binary document type, it will enable us to upload more accessible alternatives to PDFs and Word docs. Thanks!

  • Hi Amy. This is already possible within Tridion.

    If you go to the 'Administration' and then 'Multimedia Types' section (within the 'Context Explorer' section) of the GUI, then you can add extra multimedia types, such as ePub.

    You will need to specify the Name, Mime Type and File Extension(s) (e.g. .epub) for the new multimedia type. Once you've done this, you can open the necessary multimedia schema(s) and add your new one to the list of 'Allowed Multimedia Types'.
