Idea Delivered

This idea is already implemented in Sites 9.0 (and newer versions). See the last, but not least release note here: https://docs.sdl.com/LiveContent/content/en-US/SDL%20Tridion%20Sites-v2/GUID-CDC76EA0-63EF-41F7-B6FA-403F688FD6AF

Error when adding items to a bundle and they are already in

When you select a number of items to add to a bundle and any of those items are already in the bundle an exception is thrown.

  • The exception only shows the first conflict is finds - the user has to remove offending items from the selection one at a time
  • From a user perspective, I'm trying to add items to the Bundle - why stop me if they are already there - it's counter-intuitive
  • Speaking to one group of authors/editors I found they still use the old Release Manager extension simply to bypass this problem!

Would a better solution be to present the user with a dialogue informing and giving them a choice (although I can't imagine why anyone would select cancel!!)

The following items already exist in the Bundle;

1-232323 Component 1
1-893453 Component 2
1-865226 Component 3

<continue> <cancel>
