When we try to add an HTML comment at the beginning of a rich text field, it displays properly and is editable in the Classic UI. But in Experience Space the comment is hidden entirely in the code editor for the field.

Thanks for posting this idea, Damian.
This issue is already adressed in Tridion Sites 10.1.3. The modal dialog is now replaced with "inside field" editing tab. And the comments are now properly shown for editing.
