A quick search "type-and-filter" feature is available out-of-the-box in the Workflow Activity dashboard on SDL Web Cloud and SDL Web 8.5.

This includes search for Name, Task Name, Activity, Assigned To, Owner, From Publication, Related Item Title, and ID (TCM URI).

Filtering Options for the Workflow Activities slide out

The Workflow Activities slide out can be used by user groups where workflow activity is high and there are many activities assigned to a group/user.   This list can be rather long at times for some users and it would be nice to have filtering options on this view like you can see in Workflow Administration.  But most users will not be Workflow Administrators and have access to this part of the CME.
