Not much to add to the title really!
If you add an external URL into a text field of type External Link it'd be useful if that link was clickable ins someway so you can visit that link in a new browser window.
Perhaps a "visit" icon next to insert?
In Tridion Sites 9.6 it is now possible in Experience Space to open an inserted link in the RTF field from the context menu when in edit mode. In read-only mode you can click on the link to open it.
