Nice idea, Ron. Any preference on how such pinned items appear in a particular order? Maybe that might be sorting according to the sort order of rest of the table, the order they were added (no sorting), or some way to manually order items.

And do you see this as something that applies to everyone who sees the folder (along with some kind of "pinned item management right") or for pins specific to each user.

Yes, the table header is already sticky.

You are referring to rows/items. We also received a request to make the header of a table sticky or being able to pin certain columns.
