ECL links are not rendered directly in CME (the classic UI) when opening up items with RTF fields containing ECL links. That is done by pressing the 'Load Images' button.

In Experience Space (the new UI in Sites 9.5) this is fully working both with ECL links in RTF fields in normal components and as well in ECL components. 

Preview ECL item within the rich text

Users can not preview the ECL items added within the rich text field. This is creating confusion for the editor. If we can add that functionality that will be nice.

  • Best Practice or not, Editors want to put images in rich text fields, SDL should support this for tcm and ecl images.
    I have added a css style in FormatAreaStyles.css to add the image title to the anonymous grey box so at least the editor can get some indication of what the image is.
