Not Considering

Media Manager product was retired

We are not considering improvements to it

Search in a third-party system can be used in the context of Tridion Sites in case API of that system allows it

Show item location in Media Manager search

The Media Manager search enables me to find a specific image by name (or other metadata) but there is no way to see the location of the image - i.e. what folder it's in. I'm trying to use this image in a Tridion component, so I need be able to navigate to the image in the Tridion ECL navigation pane.

  • Hi Ivo, thanks for the response. In this example I'm searching within Media Manager to find my desired image (distribution), then jumping over to Tridion to use it in a piece of content.

So: I am a content editor creating a component in Tridion, which requires me to select a Media Manager distribution (e.g. an image). I can't search within Tridion (as you mentioned in a previous post, Media Manager does not have a search API). I can search within Media Manager, and select a suitable distribution, but in order to use it in Tridion I need to know the location (folder path) of the distribution. The Media Manager search interface doesn't give me that information. So there is no way for me to locate the distribution other than navigating blindly around the folder structure, either in Tridion or in Media Manager.
