I'm happy to announce that Language Weaver Edge 8.7.0.3 has been released and is now available from our download servers.

Release overview

Language Weaver Edge 8.7.0.3 is a Hot fix accumulator (HFA) release, introducing multiple hotfixes on top of Language Weaver Edge 8.7.0.2. The HFA can be deployed on top of any Language Weaver Edge 8.x previous installation as an upgrade.

Enhancements

  • Improved font size adjustment for PDF and MS Office translated documents when the source language uses an ideographic script and the target language uses an alphabetic script.

  • Added an option to configure the Multilingual Context Size on the Translation Settings page to adjust the detection sensitivity.

  • Added translation support for threaded comments in MS Excel documents.

  • Added an optional redirection URL parameter to the SAML REST API authentication call.

  • Updated the JWT authentication mechanism to use RS256 instead of HS256 tokens.

  • Increased the default allowed audio/video input size to 2 GB.

  • Kubernetes: Rounded up fractional CPU limits when assigning CPU cores to engines.

Fixes

  • Fixed missing labels in the generated reports for labels added later to existing translated jobs.

  • Fixed enforcement of the LP model dropdown selector on the Translate page when using profiles with a defined model.

  • Fixed premature purging of failed jobs due to missing timestamps.

  • Fixed occasional missing spaces at the end of sentences for edited documents downloaded from the Feedback Editor page.

  • Fixed multilingual translation jobs getting stuck in translation if the engine is configured to use dynamic PU assignment and has 0 PUs assigned when the translation occurs.

  • Fixed incorrect input size reported for PDF documents.

  • Fixed enforcement of multilingual language detections to a maximum of 3 detected languages.

  • Fixed enforcement of the language detection priority filter for multilingual translations.

  • Fixed improper source/target language selection in the dropdown of the Translate page after logging out and back into the UI.

  • Fixed high security vulnerabilities for the Golang stdlib module: CVE-2025-58186, CVE-2025-58188.

  • Fixed low security vulnerability for the Erlang module: CVE-2024-53846, CVE-2025-32433, CVE-2025-4748 (no known exploit for LW Edge).

 

Are new licenses required for this version upgrade?

A new license is only required if you are upgrading from a previous major or minor release.

Since this is a Hot fix accumulator release, licenses generated for Language Weaver Edge 8.7.x previous releases are still valid for this version.
