Trados Business Manager – End of Life Announcement

Trados Business Manager (TBM) has reached end of life. Following the discontinuation of TBM sales on 31 October 2023, all maintenance and support services will conclude on 31 October 2024.
What Does This Mean for TBM Users?

  • End of Services: RWS will no longer provide any services related to the installation or updating of TBM.
  • Existing Installations: TBM will remain functional where already installed, but the RWS support team will not offer assistance in troubleshooting issues, addressing reported problems, or providing further development for TBM.
  • Documentation: The TBM documentation has been removed from docs.rws.com.
  • Community Support: The community forum for TBM will remain accessible in a read-only format for users to reference if needed.

File delivery issue - Cannot upload target or any files to the server via TBM

Hi Eugene,

Any users cannot upload target or any delivery files to the server via TBM, either admin or vendor. The upload always got stuck in this screen and there is no further progress:

    I've got exactly same report from one other user. And it seems that problem appeared not after some update, but randomly, during application usage. At the moment I don't have an answer, but here are same suggestions I've sent to a person who has similar problem.

    • Whatever I do, which server I use, I can't reproduce an issue. In all instances I have access to, it works.
    • Did you try to restart application pool on the server?
    • Also, maybe you can try this suggestion:
      Open TBM6\wwwroot\uploadtemp folder on the server and try to delete it. Probably some issue with it? Just in case, let me know please if it contains any data or if it is blocked from deletion.

    It won't work after I did try to 

    - Restart application pool on the server

    - Check upload temp folder but it has no files to be deleted. It's an empty folder and not blocked from deletion.

    I guess the Additional files upload section would go to the uploadtemp folder? If so, maybe the uploadtemp folder should exist in each project directory (I set the project directory/work files in D drive) instead of only in TBM6\wwwroot\uploadtemp (TBM installation in C drive)?

    Finally found the problem! It wasn't easy. Actually, the problem appears not when vendior uploads the file, but after clicking OK. And it happens only when target language of language pair selected in an assignment has empty Iso2 code. We'll fix it later, but for now simply fill Language code, and it will work.
