Currency rate problem, Baccs 5.0.4

Hi, I use Baccs 5.0.4. I've been updating currency rates periodically and it does seem to update, but I see that the incorrect rates are being applied to my jobs and expenses.

For example: when I do to reference data, currency rates, it shows my regular rate updates. For euro to dollar, it shows 1.0703, and similar rates in recent updates.

Screenshot showing a list of currency rates with dates, currency codes, and rates. The rate for EUR on 1082023 is 1.0703, but an older rate of 1.1191 from 882023 is also visible.

But beginning on October 4, I did one job worth 2,700 euros. But it shows it as the equivalent of 3,021.57 dollars, which is a rate of 1.1191. That's the rate from August 8, but I had more recent rates downloaded.

Screenshot displaying a selected job with a base currency of 3,021.57 USD for a job worth 2,700.00 EUR, indicating an incorrect conversion rate being applied.

And I want to record an expense in Colombian pesos for 360,000 pesos. It shows it as USD 108.

Screenshot of an expense entry showing an amount of 360,000.00 in Colombian pesos being incorrectly converted to 108.00 USD instead of the expected 86.4 USD.

This problem is slightly different; you see above that the most recent downloaded rate was .0003, and this reflects that. But when I change the rate in the "currency rates" section, for past dates as well, to the actual rate (.00024), it still converts to USD 108. It should convert to USD 86.4, so it's a big difference.

Any idea about how to fix this? Thanks.

  • Hello, when Baccs was rebranded and changed to Trados Business Manager, Eugene and someone from Trados on this forum told me I would still receive the lifetime support for the product, which I paid for when I bought Baccs, and which was wonderful when I still received it. RWS is responsible for fulfilling the obligations to Baccs customers it acquired when it bought the product. I would like an answer to my question from someone at RWS, please.

  • Hi, Eric,

As I understand, this is Community forum, there noone has any obligations. But yes, I try to support TBM as much as can here.

Just downloaded and installed BaccS 5. Entered 2 currency rates, for different dates. Created a new job, some currency rate applied. Then I changed date of a job, and another currency rate was automatically picked up.

For expenses, it's indeed different. Date change doesn't help. Currency rate was re-applied only when I changed amount. Unfortunately this can't be fixed.

If you already have a job, and after that added new currency rate, it won't be automatically applied to any existing job. But in the application settings there is a button called Recalculate amounts in base currency, which does the job - takes all documents and applies most fresh currency rates from the reference data on the date of a document.
