Transition from old Baccs

I used the old Baccs since 2018. Today I got three emails from SDL about being added to an account. There was no explanation, beyond mentioning Baccs.

What do I do with the Baccs licenses in my SDL account? Why is this license shown to be not in use, if I can continue to use Baccs and it shows all of my information?

  • Hello

You should have also received an email a little whiile ago informing you that BaccS is now an SDL product and explaining what will happen over the coming months.  As a valid user of the old version you were entitled to the new one when it got released.

Last week we released an update to BaccS as version 5 which is the first release as an SDL product.  You won't see this as an automatic update to your old version because there are some changes that required a bigger update.  One of these changes is the licensing mechanism which now uses the same mechanism as SDL Trados Studio so you needed to have this licence placed into an account for you where you can download, install and licence the new version.

You can find more details here that might be helpful for you:

Why is this license shown to be not in use, if I can continue to use Baccs and it shows all of my information?

It shows not to be in use because it's a new one and you have not activated it yet.

  • I remember that email, but it would have been great to get that link to explain the process.

I updated inside Baccs, but apparently I'm using version 4.14. I don't see where to download version 5.

This version of Baccs does not show me the "product activation" button that I'm supposed to click on, according to the link.

Trados Studio toolbar with File, Home, View, Tools, Support tabs and social media links for ProZ.com, YouTube, Forums, Twitter, Facebook, Google.
