System.OutOfMemoryException when exporting all data to JSON file

Hi Eugene,

Following this guide: community.rws.com/.../upgrading-from-version-5

I'm trying to upgrade from SDL Trados Business Manager v.5.3.42 (Freelance Edition) to v.6 and got stuck on this instruction:

Open application settings and click Export all data to json file. This will export all your database into text file, which can be imported to v6 later.

When trying to export, I got this message:

Error when generating json file:

Exception of type 'System.OutOfMemoryException' was thrown.

What can I do to resolve this?

Regards,

IError message dialog box in Trados Studio stating 'Error when generating json file: Exception of type 'System.OutOfMemoryException' was thrown.' with an OK button.vo

  • FYI, I restarted Windows and managed to generate an export file but now I'm facing another issue which I'll post in a separate thread

  • Hi Ivaylo!

    Great to hear you.

Yes, the problem. Instead of trying to release an update, let's try this. Please open exported json file in the notepad (please no Windows notepad, use something like Notepad++, otherwise it will be too slow). The find "ExportImportUserSet" node there, and try to disable sync with online calendar. For this, set UseGoogleCalendar and UseGoogleCalendarInvoice, as on the following image. Then save it and try to re-import. Hopefully, it will work.

Screenshot of a JSON file opened in Notepad++ showing various settings including 'UseGoogleCalendar' and 'UseGoogleCalendarInvoice' both set to false.
