Trados Business Manager – End of Life Announcement

Trados Business Manager (TBM) has reached end of life. Following the discontinuation of TBM sales on 31 October 2023, all maintenance and support services will conclude on 31 October 2024.
What Does This Mean for TBM Users?

  • End of Services: RWS will no longer provide any services related to the installation or updating of TBM.
  • Existing Installations: TBM will remain functional where already installed, but the RWS support team will not offer assistance in troubleshooting issues, addressing reported problems, or providing further development for TBM.
  • Documentation: The TBM documentation has been removed from docs.rws.com.
  • Community Support: The community forum for TBM will remain accessible in a read-only format for users to reference if needed.

Changes introduced in SDL Trados Business Manager Connector 5.0.0

NOTE: This updated was originally released as SDL BaccS.  Now renamed as SDL Trados Business Manager.

This topic provides an overview of the new features, enhancements and other changes introduced in version 5.0.0 of SDL Trados Business Manager Connector.

  • When sending analysis data to SDL Trados Business Manager, mid-project updates can now be taken into account
    • When importing data from Trados Studio, the connector supports the ability to get the actual word counts regardless of when the import takes place. This can happen
      • at the beginning of the project
      • after deleting or removing files
      • after updating the contents of existing files
    • Words that are already translated will still be included in the word count, and additional/removed words will be added/deducted from the counts.
