We have just released the latest update to Trados Enterprise translation management capabilities, and we would like to share the new functionality that has been delivered.
New features and updates are automatically added to your account so just login to Trados Enterprise and they will be available immediately.
Vendor improvements
(Applies to Trados Accelerate and Enterprise)
We have introduced some significant improvements to benefit customers that are working with vendors in Trados.
We have introduced a new setting for Vendor Order Templates to allow more flexibility for when Vendor Project Managers can edit the costs for an order. The default behavior will remain unchanged, but when Allow quote editing at all times is enabled for a Vendor Order Template, Vendor Project Managers will have the option to edit the costs for an order, even after the Vendor Quote Review task has been completed.
Customer and vendor quotes are now displayed separately in the Project > Costs area, making it much easier for users to differentiate between them and identify the quote that is of interest to them.
Specifying which resources to include in package downloads
In the previous release, we introduced an option to specify whether to include translation memories or termbases when requesting a package download. Following on from that, you can now also choose whether to include reference material when downloading a package, so users have more flexibility to specify which resources are included.
Filtering usability enhancement
For filter fields that allow you to select a single user from a picklist, we have introduced an option to select the current user. This should save time, when you want to add a filter based on your own user, rather than scroll through a list and select your user manually.
API updates
-
We have rebranded from RWS Language Cloud API to Trados Cloud Platform API. All references to our previous brand name will now reflect our new identity, Trados

Public API: UI Extensibility BETA
As announced recently, we have introduced support for User Interface (UI) Extensions which offer the possibility to add custom user interface elements and functionality. Custom buttons and panels can be added to specific places within the user interface.
UI Extensibility is initially being offered in BETA. Customers interested in evaluating this functionality should keep in mind that significant changes are planned prior to the full release. For more details, please refer to the documentation page.
Additional changes
- We have introduced a new configuration option for the File Type Detection task. When the file type can’t be detected, you can now specify if an Error task is created, or if the task is completed and the file is marked as a reference file
- We are standardizing the way we store NULL values in date fields exposed via Trados Custom Reporting. Previously, NULL date values were represented as 01/01/9999 in some tables but these have now all been reverted to use 01/01/2499. Customers should update any filters used in pre-existing reports to ensure checks for NULL values are adapted accordingly.
- Various bug fixes and UX enhancements
As we are about to enter a change freeze period over the holiday season, this is the final Trados release planned in 2024. May we take this opportunity to thank all our customers for their support and feedback during the last 12 months. It has been a pleasure to deliver so many new features and updates for the product, and to hear first-hand from our customers as the Trados platform continues to evolve. We look forward to delivering many more new features in 2025!
