I just downloaded SDL Studio 2021 & wanted to create my first Cloud Project. I can add my TMs and Termbases without any problem, but I can't find where/how I can add Google Translate (even though in the documentation on SDL Trados Live, it says that this should be possible).
Has anyone else tried this (and succeeded)?
Many thanks in advance for the replies!
Can you clarify whether you are looking for Google Translate in Trados Live or in Trados Studio 2021? I'm referring to the ability to add Google via the web interface in Trados Live OR to a Studio project whether it's a cloud project in Studio or a normal local project.
If the latter, then you need to download and install the MT Enhanced plugin from the appstore:
I can't add Google via the web interface in Trados Live. I installed the MT Enhanced plugin so in Studio on my desktop it works fine.
All the best,
ok - this is a little more complex because Trados Live uses V3 of the Google Translate API. To use it go here to activate your available Add-Ons:
This will take you to here where you can click on Google Machine Translation Provider and then configure the app with your required credentials:
This may help you so you can see what advanced features are available with this version:
I have this question too.
I tried to do it and it did'nt work.
I have an account with Microsoft translator on Azur and Google Translate.
I wrote all the information when prompted to do so bu SDL Trados life but I had an error message said that I do not have the permission!
What is the problem? Do I have to pay a subscription? I thought I could use it for 1 year after I purchase SDL Trados studio 2020.
Two things here.

This will not be useful in Trados Live because there is no plugin available yet for Microsoft Translator. Only Studio has this using the MT Enhanced plugin from the appstore.

Google Translate is not free. You have to pay for this. You can validate your API key using this app:
This is useful for V2 and V3 of their API.
If your key is valid please can you post a screenshot of your configured plugin (obscure your keys) so we can be sure we are talking about the same thing here.
Thank you for your answer. I know that Google translate is not free.
I installed the app and my key is valid.
I try to use it on the new SDL Live Trados Freelance Essential .
I followed the steps you mentioned in your previous post (add ons) and I have an error message. It says that I do not have the permission.
... and your screenshot of your configured plugin?
I could not erase personal information. I sent a private message to SDL. Thank you.
ok - I'd be interested to know what the problem was as I don't know anyone who uses this Google V3 plugin in Trados Live yet.
Yes I will, but they take a very long time to answer my question.
Maybe this is me who do not enter the information properly.
What is the Google Service Account Key? What is the Google Project ID? And Google Cloud location? Can you take some screenshots of yours on the Google Cloud Console, please?
