"point médian" in French inclusive writing (·)

Would it be possible to add a way to insert mid-period for French inclusive writing.

point médian = ·

as in:

étudiant·e

This would really be very useful. I've tried to create a shortcut in Studio 2021, but it does not work. I tried the following:

.e = ·e

-e-s = ·e·s

but when I write "étudiant.e" or "étudiant-e-s", it does not convert them to :
