However, the syncronization works the other way around.
What I do is I close the file in the Editor view (after having made some changes in it). Then I either open the project in the cloud, from Studio, or I select the corresponding file in the cloud editor and open it there. In both cases, changes made in Studio are not reflected in the cloud editor.
This should work, as Studio syncs the files back to the Cloud. Would be good to investigate with our Support team.

By experimenting, I found the answer: It is not enough to confirm changes in the file in Studio, you also need to save the document (Ctrl+S) in the Editor view. But you can still leave the document open there, and you don't need to refresh anything in the Online Editor. (However, the icon Open in Cloud in Studio does in fact not open the Online Editor but leads to the Project > Dashboard view. From there, you need to go to Files and there open the file in question. It would be more intuitive if the file were opened directly in the Editor.)
It seems my problem was that I had kept the document open in the Studio editor (while not saving it); this is because I wanted to be able to go from one to the other easily. Had I closed it, saving the changes, everything would have been OK...
