General error while accessing project

Hi,

I've been working on a large project, consisting of several files, for over a year. I created it as a cloud project because I wanted to be able to work on it from different computers.

I've been using Trados Studio 2021 Freelance (SR2 - 16.2.12.9338) to translate the files (rather than the cloud interface). Until now, this has worked fine and I've been very impressed. But now, when I try to open the project from Studio, I get the message "General error while accessing project [Project name]" and cannot see any of the files.

I can still access the project and its files via the cloud interface, just not via Studio.

This is not a general problem between Studio on my computer and the cloud; I just created a new project using all the same resources as the existing one, uploaded a few Word files to it and could start using it straight away.

What can I do to be able once again to access the "problem project" from Studio?

All the best,

Steve Rawcliffe

  • Hi

I am sorry to hear that you experienced this issue.

Did you move the project, or did you change anything on your computer?

The error might mean that the project files got corrupted.

A good place to look is the Trados Studio Log file, which you can find it in File -> View log file.

    • For Trados Studio 2022, you can find the log files here: C:\Users\%Username%\AppData\Roaming\Trados\Trados Studio\Studio17\logs
    • Alternatively, you can open the Trados Studio application and go to Tools > View log file and save the file.

Did you try to delete the project from the list of projects, so it can be downloaded again from the Cloud?

If you still experience the issue please post a screenshot of the error message.

Hope you were able to find a solution to this issue.

    Regards,
    Radu
