Is the "Save to Cloud" functionality available in a Trados Studio Freelance subscription? I noticed that this option appears greyed out in the ribbon when a project is selected in the projects view.
Hello,
The "Save to Cloud" feature is indeed available in Trados Studio Freelance subscription. However, it's important to note that this feature is only enabled for projects that were originally created in the cloud and then downloaded to your local Trados Studio.
If the "Save to Cloud" option appears greyed out, it could be because the project you have selected was not originally created in the cloud.
To save your work to the cloud for these projects, you need to follow these steps:
Step 1: Select the project in the Projects View.
Step 2: Go to the Batch Tasks menu.
Step 3: Select the 'Generate Target Files (Cloud Projects)' option.
This will save your target files back to the original cloud project.
I hope this helps! If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

Step 2: Go to the Batch Tasks menu.
When I click on the Batch Tasks drop-down menu, it shows a message that says "No tasks available".
Hello,
If you're seeing a "No tasks available" message when you click on the Batch Tasks menu, it could be due to one of the following reasons:
1. The project you have selected was not originally created in the cloud. The 'Generate Target Files (Cloud Projects)' option is only available for projects that were originally created in the cloud and then downloaded to your local Trados Studio.
2. The project might not be in a state where batch tasks can be performed. For example, if the project is still in the translation phase, batch tasks like 'Generate Target Files' might not be available.
3. There might be an issue with your Trados Studio installation. You could try restarting the application or reinstalling it to see if that resolves the issue.
If none of these solutions work, it might be a more complex issue that requires further investigation. In that case, I would recommend checking for updates within the application or visiting the RWS AppStore for potential solutions.
I hope this helps! If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

Hi Claud
Can you please confirm what version of Trados Studio you are using?
See the documentation on what are the differences between Freelance and Professional licenses. docs.rws.com/.../trados-studio-editions
Both Save to Cloud and Batch tasks should work.
How did you create the project? In what version of Trados Studio.
Thanks,
Radu
One more question, are you signed in Cloud, from the top right corner?
Thanks
Radu
Hi Radu,I appreciate your help. I'm using the latest version of Trados Studio 2024 (18.0.0.103), which I subscribed to this month. I've signed in and successfully saved my projects to the cloud using the "Save to Cloud" option in the ribbon, after reverting my local projects to "In Progress" status. However, the Batch Tasks drop-down menu still shows the message "No tasks available." I'm using Trados on a Mac, running Windows 11 on a virtual drive through Parallels Desktop.
Thank you,
Claud
Hi Claud,
Thank you for the extra information. So Save to Cloud option works only for local projects, if the projects are already cloud projects the option will be grayed out.
The Batch Tasks work only on In Progress projects, your projects seem to be in Complete stage. I think you should check the status of the project in Cloud, it should be in Translate task, so In Progress.
Let me know if this works.
Radu
Yes, I understand. All of my projects were saved locally and in progress, except for one created in the cloud. Before I saved them all to the cloud batch tasks were not active. I only sent the screenshot for illustration purposes. I will attempt to create a new local project to replicate the issue and will let you know.
Have a great week ahead.
Best,
Claudio

The Batch Tasks work only on In Progress projects
Hi Radu. I hope you're doing well.
It was just as you said. I started a new project from scratch to ensure everything was functioning correctly. I now can see the options in the Batch Tasks drop-down menu, and the Save to Cloud button is active. However, I just noticed that the 'Generate Target Files (Cloud Projects)' option is grayed out. Could it be because I haven't started translating the file, saving the strings to the TM, and generating the target translations?
Thank you for helping me clarify this issue. Have a great day.
Hi Claud,
From what I see the option 'Generate Target Files (Cloud Projects)' is only available for Cloud projects.
Your sample - test project is local so the option that will work is "Generate Target Translations".
This sample Test Batch project, that is local, you should be able to save it to the Cloud, and then, generating target files (cloud Projects) should work. For example on a Cloud project, the options will be reversed.
Let me know if this helps.
