Pre-translate batch task not inserting matches from cloud-based TM

Hi there,

I recently moved a client's TM to the cloud and created a new local project using this cloud-based TM. However, the pre-translate batch task is not inserting matches from the cloud-based TM. And I know there there are plenty. I looked everywhere for a solution, but alas could not find one. Any help would be much appreciated.

Specified it's a local project

"Question improvement suggestion": Please provide more details such as the version of Trados Studio you are using, the steps you took to move the TM to the cloud, and any error messages you encountered. Also, let us know if you have tried any troubleshooting steps.

In the meantime, based on the information you have provided, here is a suggested answer to your question:

    Hello,

It seems like you might be facing an issue with the synchronization of your cloud-based Translation Memory (TM) with your local project. Here are some steps you can try:

Step 1: Ensure that your Trados Studio is up-to-date. You can check for updates within the application.

Step 2: Check your internet connection. A stable connection is required to access cloud-based TMs.

Step 3: Try to manually update your cloud-based TM. You can do this by going to the Translation Memories view, right-clicking on the TM, and selecting 'Update from the main TM'.

Step 4: If the issue persists, try to recreate the project and ensure that the correct TM is selected during the project creation process.

Step 5: As suggested in the context, run a Batch Task -> Pre-translate to get the latest translation results.

Remember, it's important to keep your cloud-based TM updated regularly to ensure that all the latest translations are available for your projects.

I hope this answer addressed your question. If not, please reject the answer, add the question improvement suggestion information, and click the RWS Community AI checkbox on the right to try again.

  • Hi

Sorry for the late reply on this.

Batch-tasks for pre-translate works only from Trados Team, Accelerate and Enteprise accounts. This info is available here:

    https://docs.rws.com/en-US/trados-studio-2024-1145319/leverage-cloud-based-resources-in-batch-tasks-1148265

"If you have a Trados Team, Trados Accelerate, or Trados Enterprise subscription, you can now leverage your cloud-based resources when running the Analyze Files or Pre-Translate Files batch tasks in Trados Studio."

And here:  Trados Studio Cloud Capabilities - Jan-July 2024 Roll-up

"Leverage cloud-based resources in batch tasks

If you have a Trados Team, Trados Accelerate, or Trados Enterprise subscription, you can now leverage your cloud-based resources when running the Analyze Files or Pre-Translate Files batch tasks in Trados Studio for local projects. This enhancement means that any cloud engines specified in the project settings will be fully used in the batch flow for both local and cloud projects (after downloading all files locally) in Trados Studio. Your reports will accurately reflect the cloud resources leveraged, which means all sophisticated features of the Analyze Files batch task are supported. You can now receive metrics on internal fuzzy leverage, find and export unknown and frequent segments, just like for other project types, such as local or GroupShare projects. While this functionality is not available in the free Studio cloud capabilities, it's still important to be aware of them to know which additional functionality you will get when upgrading to one of the paid Trados subscriptions especially when it comes to the integration of Trados Studio with our cloud platform.  "

Are you using the Cloud capabilities from Trados Studio offering?

    Hope this helps,
    Radu
