I guess I am just dumb here, but Trados 2022 opens languages in reverse order when I open a document to translate, i.e., English->German instead of the other way around. In addition, I have to add the termbases each time. How can I make default settings for these things? Thanks in advance

Do you mean when you drag drop a file to start translating - you wish it offered a different language pair?
This is a custom setting which you can find under "File - Options" then "Editor - Languages"

It is also this menu where you can find Termbases under "Language Pairs".
Once you add your termbase there, it will be available for each project moving forward
