No error during imported XLIFF with wrong locale into TM

Question

Dear all, 
 Our team wanted to import XLIFF files to a TM. Our project had both PT-BR and PT-PT along other languages. We erroneously imported PT-PT XLIFF files into the PT-BR TM without any error prompt from Studio. 
 When I tested this with a completely different language (NL-NL) I actually got an error: 
 "Import failed. The file could not be processed. The language pair of the import file [en-Us -> nl-NL] does not match the language pair of the Translation Memory [en-Us -> pt-BR]" 
 Is this behavior normal? Is this a known issue to be fixed? 
 Please let me know if I should raise this issue anywhere else as well.

 Thank you for your prompt response. 
 We import XLIFF files in the Translation Memories view. Yes, it's weird that Studio doesn't pop an error for different locals. 
 We actually found a solution to this by checking the box below, which was overlooked before.

Hi Giannis Ouzounis What I understand from your post is you want to take xliff files and import them into a TM. I also understand that you have PT-BR, PT-PT and also NL-NL 
 How are you actually importing into the TM? Via TM Maintenance and import OR via a project? What I can confirm is our TM's are very regional language specific, as well as direction. So exact source to exact target. It therefor surprises me when you say

 Because if your TM is looking for PT-BR, PT-PT would be a different sub language and Id expect it to fail. 
 What are your language combinations at file level vs what you have set in your PT-BR TM?
