Trados 2019 license does not appear on my RWS account after I upgraded to Trados 2022

I had Trados 2019 on my laptop and then upgraded to 2022. Trados 2019 stopped working for reasons I do not know but I didn't research it further as I wasn't using it. Now I have bought a new PC were I will install the 2022 version, so I want to use the 2019 version with my old laptop. I considered reinstalling it, but there is no license or activation code for this version! Do they expire?

  • Hi

When upgrading, SDL allow you to continue using your previous version under certain criteria - allowing a smooth migration process to the latest version.

If you wish to keep the previous (2019) FREELANCE license on the same machine as Studio 2022 or on a separate one -

PLEASE DO NOT deactivate 2019 license in Studio-

Only process the upgrade in your account. A deactivated license cannot be reset!

You may continue to use the legacy version until-

-you attempt to migrate the software to a new PC/ cloud storage etc.

-deactivate the license (intentionally or by mistake)

    -upgrade your OS

    -reformat your hard drive

If you wish to keep your legacy license permanently, you will need to purchase a new license and NOT an upgrade.

    Regards,

    Lucian
