Files alignement

Hello all,

I translate industrial User Manuals in various languages, for example from EN to FR but also from FR to EN.

I have access to a lot of old manuals that I use as reference and that I align to include in my working TMs.

The alignement process can be long (reorganize and check the segments) and, when having an alignement done between 2 files, from EN-FR for example, I was hoping to capitalize the alignement and also use it from FR-EN.

But I couldn't find any way to do that (reverse the language pairs in the alignement files).

Example: I have a previous manual, used for reference, available in two versions, English and French. I align the files from EN to FR (and I check all segments to make sure they are perfectly aligned). I then import the align file into my EN-FR TM.

Then, I wish I could just reverse the language pair for the align file to FR-EN, without having to check again all the segments and keeping the segments as per my previous EN-FR alignement, then import the result in my FR-EN TM.
Does that make any sense?

I know of the AnyTM option, but I think this is not exactly what I want, since with AnyTM, a TM with an .anytmreverse.sdltm extension is created, and I'm not sure the initial TM will be correctly synchronized and keep all changes made during translation.

I'm willing to take any advice or hint on that matter!

Thank you!

Ludivine
