Dealing with inconsistent translations?

How to deal with inconsistent translations in QA?

In Verifika for example we can just click the correct version and it's populated automatically in sdlxliff file. In Trados we need to copy-paste the text in Filter window in order to see all inconsistent segments to correct, but maybe there is a better solution?

  • In Trados Studio there is also a check for inconsistent translations:

Trados Studio project settings window with 'Check for inconsistent translations' option highlighted and checked.

It's not on by default so perhaps all you need to do is check it in the project settings for your project?  You then get this when you run your QA:

Trados Studio QA messages window showing a list of translation errors with explanations and symbols indicating the type of error.

You can double click on the messages and fix the problem in this window:

Verification Message Details window in Trados Studio displaying an inconsistency error with options to change, ignore, or restore the translation.

Or just single click and the affected segment will be selected so you can edit in the target cell in the editor.
