If repairing the TM failed then I'd say it's corrupt. But this question can really only be answered by seeing your TM and checking to see if it's possible to recover anything.
It's always important to keep backing up your resources like this so you are always only a backup away from being able to recover from any problems. I'd also recommend you backup in TMX format as well since a flat text based file is always easier to recover from than a database.
