Could you have a could you have a speech-to-text transcription add-in for this to allow for the creation of the source text e.g. like Adobe Premiere Pro introduced this week?
That way we would have a complete tool and wouldn't have to resort to another software to create the subtitles and then go to Trados Studio to translate them, it would be wonderful to do all the process using just Trados Studio.

The first part to this answer is that Trados Studio is a translation tool that expects to have the source file already. It's not an authoring tool and the usecase you have asked about here is clearly an authoring task. Speech-to-text transcription alone will only get you the text, you still need to do the work to make sure the timings and quality aspects in the source language are correct in order to get a source file you can work with to translate.
That way we would have a complete tool
This is really the point. It means taking everything you would need in a sub-titling editing tool and including it into a translation tool. I think this is probably best left to specialist tools for this process. I don't think having to resort to another tool to complete the process is a problem, particularly given the effort involved to complete these tasks.
I think this visual is where we are and probably where we need to be:
An obvious solution to this is to use APIs to integrate so it's a more seamless transition between tools and then it would probably seem more like one. I think we already do something like this with CaptionHub where the work originates in CaptionHub and then a translation project can be initiated from the CaptionHub UI, translated in our translation environments, and eventually sent back to CaptionHub. So you have the right tools for the job at each stage of the process.
