Coexistence of Trados 2007, 2009 and 2017 on the same PC

I have Trados 2007 and 2009 installed on my PC (Windows 7 Pro) and planning to buy and install a Trados Studio 2017.

Can Trados 2007, 2009 and 2017 co-exist on the same PC?
Is there anything I should be careful about when installing 2017 on the same PC?

  • Dear Yoko,

Yes, they could coexist on the same machine, as they are separate programs and not 'upgrades' of the former version.

Unless you have very specific needs for Studio 2009/Suite 2007 you dont really need them any longer as Studio 2017 is fully backwards compatible.

Please be aware that if you are running a new operating system such as Windows 10 you may have issues installing 2007 Suite/2009 and that we no longer are able to offer technical support for such versions.

    One last note-

As you currently run Windows 7- you MUST ensure that the latest update is installed (SP2) otherwise you will have issues with the installation.
