After upgrading to SDL Trados Studio 2017, my old version of SDL Trados Studio 2015 SR2 has recently and unexpectedly stopped working.
Is it safe to uninstall this old version of SDL Trados Studio 2015 SR2 from my system without adversely affecting my SDL Trados Studio 2017 upgrade version?

Hi Antony,
Feel free to uninstall Studio 2015 from your machine. Studio 2017 does not depend on any previous Studio installation you might have.
Moreover Studio 2017 is fully backwards compatible with older versions of the Studio software.
With regards to what might have had happen to your Studio 2015 - it's worth to take a look at this article which highlights the main aspects of using older licenses after upgrade.
