I'm in the middle of upgrading to 2017 but it keeps insisting that I add 5 languages. I only have 1 pair of languages.
Do I just add some random languages that I will never use?

FWIW, this is what the good old Trados 2007 (oh, these old Trados days when things still made sense...) help says:
The Freelance application supports a maximum of five languages and their sublanguages; these are specified during installation.

Indeed yes but would you really want to go back to using 2007?
I still do occasionally use it to search for obscure xml tag errors and it reminds me how slow and unstable it was to work with...
Ten years on, things are bound to be a bit more complex.
