Forced To Repeat Initial Setup Every Time I open Studio

Every time I open studio 2017, I am left with no alternative but to repeat the initial set up, and define my preferred five languages. What's wrong? What to do? Thanks for help.

    There were a number of hurdles to be taken - owing to some specific issues relating to my computer setup and my limited brilliance. The help from Andreea-Bianca Dragus from SDL support was absolutely outstanding - timely, and spot on.

    Workaround 1: Run a repair installation

    Close all SDL applications.
    Open the Control Panel:
    Windows Vista/7: Start > Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features.
    Windows 8: Right-click on the screen at bottom-left corner and choose Control Panel > Uninstall a Program.
    Windows 10: Right-click on Start > Control Panel > Select View by: Small Icons > Programs and Features.
    Click/highlight the relevant SDL product from the list (e.g. SDL Trados Studio 2015) and click Repair.
    Restart Studio.
