The requested data file could not be located - Studio 2017

Question

Hello, 
 I have SDL Trados Studio 2017 Freelance +. I have used it for a while without any problems, but today when I wanted to start the program, I received the following error: The requested data file could not be located. I tried the solution suggested here ( gateway.sdl.com/.../communityknowledge , but it did not help (Basically I couldn't find AppData and file: TranslationMemoryRepository.xml anywhere) . So I installed the program on a different computer to deactivate both of my licenses (as I couldn't open the program on my own computer at all) and then I uninstalled the program on my computer from the Control Panel. Then I downloaded the Studio exe. file, installed the program without activating my license, hoping to see if it is going to work as a trial version, but when I clicked on the icon I received the same error. Please could someone help me? I have no clue what went wrong and I am starting to think I will never be able to use Trados Studio 2017 on my computer and I will have to buy a new one. 
 I also have Studio 2014 and it works perfectly fine, so for now I am ok and can handle my translations except packages created with Studio 2017. 
 I would appreciate any solutions.

If you could not find that file then please just do a reset and try again. Rename this folder (just add _old to the end or something, it's not important what you rename it to) and restart Studio: 
 
c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\14.0.0.0 
 
If your problem was actually that you could not find your way through the appdata folders then make sure that you are showing your hidden files and folders: 
 
 www.howtogeek.com/.../

Have you been able to find the file in the 'app data' structure and resolve the issue? 
If not please take a look at how to-un hide the correct folders-

Please note: we actually recommend the use of SSD drives- because of the increased speed and reliability over standard drives.

As the original link does not appear to be valid any longer I just wanted to ensure you were renaming the XML file as follows- 
 gateway.sdl.com/.../communityknowledge (valid article) and that you have restarted the machine? 
 
Also out of interest- what type of file is causing the issue- PDF maybe or all file types. 
Are you maybe able to share one of the files? (swhale@sdl.com)

Yes, this is why it would be useful to know if this happens just to certain file types or all file types, 
as I am not aware of other similar cases, so my assumption would be that the issue is local in this instance.
