Trados Studio won't open after installing update

Question

Hi, 
 I have had Studio 2017 for a few weeks. I recently installed an update and now I can't open the application. 
 I get two messages: 
 1) Une exception a &eacute;t&eacute; lev&eacute;e par l'initialiseur de type Sdl.Enterprise2.Platform.Client.IdentityInfoCache 
 2) Failed to add window command bar extensions 
 All Windows updates have been done - it still won't open. I saw in another thread that perhaps I should Reset Studio but I'm not sure how to do that. 
 I'd be grateful if someone could help out.

Hi Claire Walters ,

To do a reset rename this folder (just add _old to the end or something, it's not important what you rename it to) and restart Studio:

c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\14.0.0.0

Hi Claire Walters , 
 
Resetting won't remove any Translation Memories, Termbases, Translation Projects or anything like that. If you had customised your view, or keyboard shortcuts or things like this then you will lose the customisation by resetting. So you won't lose any work!

ok. This is what I suggested:

So rename this folder: 
 
14.0.0.0 
 
To this: 
 
14.0.0.0_old 
 
If you can't see this folder then you need to show your hidden files and folders in Windows: 
 
 www.howtogeek.com/.../
