Today I wanted to start the programme as usual, but there suddenly appears the window for the first-time installation of Trados 2017, although it was installed already long time ago. Will I loose all my existing projects, if I install it again?

 I've never had problems with starting the programme of Trados Studio 2017, but today there appeared another window and I was asked to install the programme 'for the first time', although I've installed it many months ago.

 

Please help!

    Hi there,

    This window appears if you have performed a reset of Studio. In that case, you just have to tick 'yes'.* You won't lose any projects. If they disappear from your projects list, you can re-add them from the Projects view via 'Open Project' then navigate to wherever you save your projects. If you haven't changed from the Studio default projects folder, you'll find your projects here:

    C:\Users\Your_Username\Documents\Studio 2017\Projects

    You can also right-click on any project folder via Windows Explorer and that will open Studio.

    *If you're using Freelance you will have to re-select 5 languages including your source language. Then re-make any custom settings you made via File>Options since you first installed Studio.

    If you haven't performed a reset of Studio, then something else must have triggered this message but nonetheless you almost certainly won't lose all your work.
