Can't start Studio 2017, error "Not found", after Windows cumulative update

After the last Windows cumulative update, I get the error "Not found", both when clicking on the application .exe and on the icon. I've Repaired and reinstalled to no avail. I've also renamed the folder 14.0.0 to _old and to no avail either.

Hope you can help. Many thanks. Lorenzo

  • Hello

I have spoken to support about this and unfortunately we do not as yet know what may be causing this other than a possible corrupt Windows installation.

The first thing I would suggest is to remove Studio completely from your system-

    1)Disable your AntiVirus system

    2) Uninstall Studio from the windows control panel first and then make sure you have manually removed these locations if there is anything left:

    Studio 2017
    c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\14\
    c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\14.0.0.0\
    c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\ProjectApi\14.0.0.0\
    c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Local\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\14\
    c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Local\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\14.0.0.0\
    c:\ProgramData\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\14\
    c:\ProgramData\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\14.0.0.0\
    c:\ProgramData\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\Studio5\
    c:\Program Files (x86)\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\Studio5\

    3)Then run a Windows repair.

    4) Now reinstall Studio 2017 via your SDL account

Please let me know if this has resolved the problem- If not we log a support ticket and get an engineer to have a look via remote webex for you.
