Activation succeeded, but Studio won't open.

Question

After successfully activating the upgrade (from Studio 2011 to 2017) I purchased a few days ago, Studio won't open: I am always taken back to the window where I am requested to renew or update my license. Can someone please help?

Please try deleting this file and restart Studio. You will be asked to activate the product but hopefully only once: 
 
c:\ProgramData\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\Studio5\Data\Studio.lic

I suggest you log a case with licensing suport. They work 24/7 so you will get a response. If the page is greyed try again in 5 minutes or so as they deal with any queries sequentially so might just be busy.

You have two options: 
 
1. Submit a case using a webform 
2. Use live chat to get a licence reset 
 
You want to use the second option and make sure that you refer to this thread so the teams can see what you have tried already.
