Unknown exception when I try to open Trados 2015

Hi!

I've had some problems when trying to open Trados.
I just receive the message "Unknown exception" when I try to open Trados, and that's it.
I've deleted the file in C:\ProgramData\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\Studio4\Data to try and activate the licence after forcing the return of the licence on the server.
After deleting the file, the window asking me to activate the licence appears when I lauch Trados, but when I click on "Activate it", the program freezes for a minute or so, then comes back to life, after what I am able to enter the licence.
When I enter the licence it says "Licence activated", I click OK, and another window immediately appears "Licence not activated" (or something like that).

I've tried activating online and offline, but I still got the same message.

I've tried repairing the program through Windows program repair, which opened Trados during the repair, but when I closed it I couldn't launch it anymore. Trados seems to open randomly now...

Here is the stacktrace:

  • Hi ,

Try resetting Studio first. Rename this folder (just add _old to the end or something, it's not important what you rename it to) and restart Studio:

    c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\12.0.0.0

So the path would become this:

    c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\12.0.0.0_old

If you can't find this folder then you need to unhide your hidden files/folders:

    www.howtogeek.com/.../

If that doesn't help then log a case and a support engineer will be able to help you. This can be achieved really quickly using this link:

    gateway.sdl.com/liveagentlicensing

    You have two options:

    1. Submit a case using a webform
    2. Use live chat to get a licence reset

You want to use the first option and make sure that you refer to this thread so the teams can see what you have tried already.

    Regards
