unable to get studio 2011 to work

Question

I have constant problems in using SDL and the only reason why I am even bothering is because some translation bureaus require it. When I open the program that I received to work on, the only thing that happens is that it tries to reinstall. Obviously, that's not the issue. Am I supposed to try to open a file or a project? But neither alternative works.

Hello paul hacker ,

I would suggest that you first of all verify that Studio 2011 is installed by starting it up on its own. If it is then once it's open use the "Open Package" command to open the package you have been sent instead of double clicking it.

I have no idea why double clicking a package is running the installer but you can be sure that for a piece of software that old there is nothing we have done to change it!
