Problem with activation / license already used

I am currently working on a translation project with SDL Studio 2011. Yesterday, when I turned off my PC everything was fine; today, I opened SDL Trados Studio and got the message "Active License: Not Licensed" and below the "Activate" button. I didn't deactivate my license, nor do I wish to do so, so I don't know why this has happened. If I hit "Activate" and enter my activation code, I get the message: "Activation failed. We cannot complete this activation because the license is still registered by SDL for another computer. Check that deactivation was completed on the other computer. (The deactivation must be sent to SDL. Support reference: LicenseNumberAlreadyUsed -23)."
There is no other computer, I have only ever installed Trados on my current computer. In my "licenses" section on sdl.com, it shows that my license is in use. I can't get past the "Activate" screen on Studio, so I can't access it to try to deactivate and re-activate my license from there.
I don't know how to proceed. Please help.

  • Hi Paul,

    Thank you for your answer.
The "Return license" function isn't available on my sdl account. Only these two are available: "Can't deactivate online? Deactivate offline" and "Can't activate online? Get an offline activation certificate," none of which work for me.

As the article states, the "Return license" isn't available because I am a Trados Studio Freelance Plus user and not all of my licenses are in use. I have an extra activation available (marked with an asterisk). Given that there's one more available, shouldn't I be able to activate it on my computer using the same activation code?
I had submitted a case prior to posting this yesterday, so I'll just have to wait for their reply. The live chat option is greyed - not sure if they work on the weekends.
Anyway, thank you again for the suggestion.
